Purpose and Role
To provide the leadership and management of multi-disciplined engineering teams in the delivery of one of Cyclife Aquila Nuclear’s major projects or workstreams. Responsible for the provision of elements associated with success delivery of machine design and build projects. Working as part of a project team, you will manage design output from concept to validation.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager to produce engineering design and associated documentation in the production of engineering concepts and technical solutions compliant with company and international standards.
In consultation with the Principal Engineer responsible for providing input and support to the Engineering Function Technical Authority.
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
- To progress the technical delivery of engineering projects, as allocated, in alignment with the Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
- To technically support the Commercial Department.
- To produce engineering designs and associated engineering documents
- To manage the day-to-day technical aspects of allocated projects working with a team of engineers or as an individual. Work should be carried out with minimal to no supervision, but with regular consultation with the Head of Department.
- To coordinate, with the Project Engineering Manager, in the day-to-day tasking of any allocated engineers.
- To provide analyses and understand technical tender specifications, producing the technical aspects of tender returns and creating accurate tender design estimates.
- To peer review of concept designs, 3D CAD scheme designs, detailed manufacturing drawings and design substantiation by hand calculations.
- To produce substantiation (by hand calculation) of engineering designs
- To support the development of the engineering resource, development and implementation of internship and apprenticeship programmes.
- To produce concept designs, full 3D scheme design and 2D detail design for manufacture within SolidWorks all within the required timescales
- To assist in general clerical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the Engineering Department.
- Any other job duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
- To support business change, via effective change management processes in the context of Cyclife Aquila Nuclear fast-paced regulatory environment.
- To be responsible for your own workplace safety. - Attend various business meetings as required.
