Matthew Fowler

Introducing Matthew Fowler, one of our Engineering Managers! We asked Matthew a few questions to get to know more about his role at CAN and what he does outside of work.

What is your role at CAN and what do you enjoy the most about it?

My role at CAN is ‘Engineering Manager’, which means that I’m responsible for the delivery of engineering solutions across multiple projects. Whilst I’ve only recently been promoted to the role, what I’ve enjoyed the most so far is being able to work on a multitude of engineering challenges with the team and finding ways to best utilise the diverse skillsets that my colleagues have.

How long have you worked at CAN for?

I joined CAN in September 2023 as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, so just over a year now.

What advice would you give to someone joining the business?

The cafe on the crossroads in Twyford does the best coffee in the area, if you enjoy a good brew!

What do you do at the weekends?

Aside from wedding planning with my Fiancé (did I mention that I’m getting married?), I enjoy getting out and exercising, particularly a Flemish form of bike racing called Cyclocross.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I have a grade 8 on the Saxophone, although I haven’t played in a few years..!
